HELLA

Derived from "hell of a lot". Similar to "very, really, a lot," etc.

Used mostly in Northern California though has been heard in other parts of CA and even in the media such as an infamous "hella" South Park episode. (Cartman used it outside of its meaning to annoy Kyle.)

Before: There's a hell of a lot of beer in that fridge.

After: There's hella beer in that fridge.

As "very" or "really":

"That's hella far away!"

An unreasonably long distance commute for work. Derivative of the Northern California word hella. The opposite of telecommute.

Dude: "I bought a house in Livermore but I still have to drive to The City for work every day..."

Hella (Name)

A person who is full joy, very caring, and is always their for any of there friends. They bounce through life and always enjoy a good joke. They put off "cool vibes" without trying, and has a great fashion sense ( which adds to the coolness) with funky socks being the epicenter of their fashion. They have great taste in music and are musically talented themselves. If you meet one, you will also really want to give them a hug, because they are adorable! If you ever meet one, you are lucky because they are rare, and remember to charish every moment you have with them.
