1. The state of having potential without quite knowing whether or not to verify the possibility of their being potential in the first place.

(Don't confuse yourself, just read the definition again.)

2. Used to point out the possibility of though with a degree of hesitation that warrants typographical error.
Even though they enjoyed sharing a drink and a chat, the couple could only ponentially have had made anything more of it than that.

When a girl is not fat, and at this point in time she's usually do-able, if not hot, but you know deep down that at some point in her life, she's gonna be fat. It's just inevitable.
Dude 1: Hey man, you still dating that chick Lisa?

1) Someones ability to become something. There may of course be good potential or bad potential.

Such potentail usually occours in male adolescents that participate in sports.

In rare cases some people may have to much potentail.

2) Joking about how someone may have potential to suceed or do something good, but will probably fail.
-He had so much potential. We thought he'd be in NBA, but furthest he got was halftime show.

-Must of had to much potential.

Puntential

The potential for a subject to have many puns made off of it.
I heard Stephen Colbert got a Ben and Jerry's flavor named in his honor; it's called Americone Dream. I'm not sure why Conan hasn't got one of those yet, his name has so much puntential.

From the Greek, combining lignos, the word for "wood" with "genesis" meaning to give birth to. This pharse describes the ability a particular woman has to inspire an erection. Not to be confused with a perfect erection, the so-called "lignogenesis perfecta".
