courtesy slice

A slice of pizza taken from a friend who has bought a whole one for him or herself, so that the buyer feels justified in their decision since the appearance of greed has been diminished.
Jake was reluctant to buy a full-size margherita, until I suggested I'd grab a courtesy slice or two.

courtesy (waiter laugh or bartender laugh) laugh

when a waiter or bartender is working in a very loud bar or restaurant and cannot completely hear what the customer is saying but they start to laugh when they thought it was a time to insert laughter.
also known as a courtesy laugh when a customer says something at all remotely funny so you use the waiter laugh or bartender laugh to make the customer think they are funny.
I was table-side when the family was talking to me and I started using my "courtesy (waiter laugh or bartender laugh) laugh" when Mr. Young told the same story he has told 45 times previously.

Court Cells

The 'Court Cells' are a holding area for people who have been arrested and are waiting to see a judge before either being remanded or released from custody or for people already incarcerated or remanded who must see a judge for trial. You are transported there by a 'patty wagon' after spending the night at the police station or from a correctional facility/penitentiary.

It is an all concrete room with small concrete ledges to sit on where you are lumped in with a bunch of other guys who are also waiting to see a judge.

If you happen to be unlucky you may get beaten by hard headed gangsters who are feeling extra macho that day. It often takes forever to be released/processed and is the extremely boring part between either going to jail or being released. It is often a place for intense battles because it is a small concrete room and you can get put in there with anyone including rival gang members and if a fight breaks off it tends to get bloody as there is no where to go.

It is sometimes fun if you get a bunch of guys who like to joke around and do funny shit or if somebody sneaked in some chronic.
I finally got at this fucking punk who has been talking shit on the streets. I seen him in the court cells and beat his ass until the guards came in and maced me

Courtesy Card

A verb, usually used in the past tense, describing the behavior of waitstaff validating identification for the purpose of age verification before serving alcohol.

This variation of the standard "carding" procedure is used when an overly polite waiter or waitress asks for the identification of a possibly underage patron, then subsequently requests identification from a patron clearly over the legal drinking age.
Waiter (to young looking female patron): "Miss, may I see your ID? Thank you."
Waiter (to female patron's obviously older male companion): "Sir, may I see your ID? Thank you."
Male Patron (to Female Patron): I just got courtesy carded.
