the ironic state of being so hopelessly indoctrinated by the mainstream PC culture of being aggressively anti-establishment, individualistic, tolerant, and overtly aware of every marginalized social demographic that you march in lockstep with the establishment that promotes these false virtues by encouraging you to shed any remnant of individual thought or expression that does not align with the establishment's prescribed virtues, refuse to tolerate any deviation from those virtues in yourself or others, and marginalize others by reducing everyone to nothing more than a collection of immutable traits such as race, gender, and sexual orientation.
Hey! Did you see Marla's new frog/froggy pronouns? Frog identifies as frog after frog saw a 60 minutes exposé about gay, black, female republicans having internalized racist, misogynist tendencies because all gays, blacks, and women are supposed to be democrats. Frog then realized that as a white person frog wasn't oppressed enough to have a valid point of view which made frog sad and want a bath. Then frog realized frog like being in water as much as frog liked being out of the water just like a frog, so frog must be frog! Afterwards, Frog got a promotion at work for being so woke!

'The belief that one is more enlightened, their intentions purer and more correct, and that what they say, do, or practice is always in the best interest of whomever they deem as worthy or in need of it, usually a minority group and/or a financial demographic'
Woke person A: "I believe we must empower said group, and only listen to people of said group, as they are less represented, and I care about championing and giving a voice to people!"
Woke Person B: "What about the other group from the other demographic, who have a conflicting opinion?"
Woke Person A: "Well uh, um, t-they are bad and their views don't matter! Like I said, I champion and give a voice to people, b-but not those other p-people! Shut up!"

Woke means paying attention to whats being done in your name, to your life, in your community, to your neighbors, in your country, in our world. It means taking a stand against injustice where ever it presents. And continuing to strive even if its not personal or apparent.
Its voting in the primary and midterms, not just every four years, for a candidate whose record you have researched. And staying on your representatives to be sure the will of the People is first and foremost on their agenda...
Woke originated in the Black Community.
A 1962 New York Times Magazine article titled "If You're Woke You Dig It" by Black novelist William Melvin Kelley, describing the appropriation of African American slang by white beatniks. While I can understand the author's irritation at their appropriation I can also hear echoes of Divide and Conquer.
The powers that be much prefer the status quo. They cannot stand against the People United.
Woke means being mindful of your influence and never never ever giving up. Striving for the best world that can be. It means having principles and ideals, not just opinions. Woke is sometimes seen as passive but #StayingWoke is being knowledgeable and aware of where your power lies. Knowledge is Power and what is Power if it is not used?

My mother told me its about money, not color. The minute you let them fool you, they've won.
My mother was woke.

Susan got the job over 3 more qualified candidates because the company needs more women to fill those positions so they can prove how 'woke' they are. As a woman she's so oppressed she never could have gotten it without the hand out.
Doug took out thousands in student loans and pursued a degree in womens studies so he could be woke and not a part of the problem. Now he can't find a job, is drowning in debt and all he does is whine about "late stage capitalism" while insisting that if his ancient Babylonian ancestors had not been displaced by Persian invaders he would be a millionaire by now.
"Bethany" is an American born, black trans-woman, "Jason" is a Canadian born Jewish woman. They both argue incessantly over who is more disadvantaged, claiming the other isn't 'woke' enough to be speaking on the issue. The debates always end with one of them being a racist transphobe and the other being a misogynistic antisemite. When really, they're both just deranged arseholes.
Stephen told Carol to go outside and look around, all things that exist were built and maintained primarily by men. Then he posed the question, "So when you say that you don't need a man, I'm wondering where you found the time to get Masters certifications in Electrical & Mechanical engineering, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, architecture & physics?" His arguments weren't woke at all...
