Somone who tries to fit in with a group of people. They obviously do not fit in but try their hardest to conform to this group people and usually end up just being a liar and a fake.

Alex tries so hard to fit it with Kara and Kately that she lied about hooking up with JT, just because Kara and Kately are sexually advanced, aka she is being a poser.

Does not have to be a wannabe boarder or someone who listens to good charloette, or anything like, for all you know, it could be a boarder trying to be a nerd! just cause it doesn't happen regularly doesn't mean it's impossible. anyways, a poser is someone who tries to be like a certain group of people, and half the times, aren't even cool. i mean why would you want to be emo? they cause themselves more pain - to deal with pain!

george is a poser, he tries to be a punk by hanging out with other punks but was too scared to enter class late by 10 seconds because he might be taken off the honour roll.

A poser is someone who acts like someone he/she is not to act cool. A poser will pretend to know all the latest trends that apply to the group he/she is trying to fit in with, but the poser will actually have no clue whatsoever.

This term mostly applies to stupid girls who try to act like Queen Bees they see on TV, by acting even MORE retarded (and telling people about it), speaking in a nasaly tone, acting like a drama queen (and being proud of it), pretending to have Paris Hilton-related problems, dropping names of designer brands she obviously doesn't wear, and/or claiming that she is a trash talker even though a 3 year old's putdowns could make her burst into fake tears.

ASpeaking with an enemy:
Anna: "OMG I'm soooo anorexic, even my Ralph Lauren cardigan won't make me feel better."
Alexa: "Ugh whatever, you poser!"
Anna: "O really, are you trying to be mean, like me????"
Alexa: "You're not mean, you're just a drama queen"
Anna: "OOOOOhhh, I know!"

Talking to a friend:
Sandrina: "It must be hard for actresses to act dumb."
Anna: "THAT'S SOOOOO NOT TRUE! I act dumb every day!"

the sad part about BOTH these examples is that they've actually happened. no lie.
