Screamo

Screamo is a specific subgenre of music that spawned in the 1990s, Real screamo is actually pretty badass from what I've heard, but that's not what my point here is. The definition of screamo is not "a band that has screaming in their songs" or metal in general. Many people, when they hear that someone likes metal, makes fun of the person and says the person loves screamo. They have to keep pushing that screamo is the worst thing since stepping on Legos. That person is in fact wrong. Post-hardcore, metalcore, thrash metal, death metal, and hundreds more of subgenres have screaming. If you're gonna insult someone, at least try to do your homework before you embarrass yourself.

Asshole: HAHA! THAT EMO FAG LIKES SCREAMO! GAY! AHA!
Metalhead: I don't like screamo, you moron. I'm only really into thrash metal.
Asshole: Uhh.. Well.. You're gay!
Metalhead: *facepalm*

Scream Wank

Masturbation where at the point of climax you give an unholy yell. Most likely completed when spouse/parent is not at home and you can scream your balls off in peace. Screamo

Screamo is a music related term which originated in the 80's or 90's. It is generally classified by rough "screaming" vocals. Although it is generally listened to by teenagers and people in their young 20's this type of music can be listened to by people of any age or background. Many bands who are not technically screamo (Take Sleeping With Sirens for example) are often confused or labeled as screamo due to the occasional scream, even though it is not their main type of music. Screamo itself is normally not a genre of its own but will be characterized in many genres such as hardcore or punk rock.
