Marilyn Moment

When a gust of wind blows someones skirt up and they have to hold it down. Like Marilyn Monroe's famous scene in 'The Seven Year Itch'

She may have been wearing a knee-length coat, but the Duchess perhaps didn't anticipate just how windy it would that day. She gave onlookers an eyeful when a gust of wind ensured her very own Marilyn moment. Whilst exiting the aircraft she was forced to quickly pull down her dress and as it almost resulted in a rather embarrassing knicker flash.

artist moment

Like a senior moment when everything else is forgotten, and the artist's minds goes into creative mode. Things like remembering where items put down during this time are misplaced, doors to exterior of the building, and cupboards are not closed. Sentences are halted mid stream, all because the artist has a rush of creative insight.

Yeah, I was going to apply for that job but, I had an artist moment.

Cucumber moment

When you are caught completely off guard by an object that is out of place and you instinctively jump back, like when a cat sees a cucumber on the floor and jumps straight up.

'Dude, I was rushing to class today and when I turned the corner I ran up on a vacuum cleaner next to the wall. I thought it was a Dalek about to 'TERMINATE!'

'Dude, that was a real cucumber moment.'

Hippocampus moment

That moment you reach a place and realise exactly where you are. It reflects the moment where your hippocampus (the brain structure involved in memory and navigation which stores maps of the environment you have visited before) recognises that you have been to a place before and merges two cognitive maps together (one map made when you visited in the past and the map made in the present).

I am used to go to the supermarket by taking Broadway, but yesterday I was on South street and reached the supermarket. I had a hippocampus moment! I realised South street leads to broadway!

"Ohhhhhhh...!" moment

The super-welcome/relieving point in time when ya hear a repair-person make the much-hoped-for "Aha! I just now spotted what the problem is" type of exclamation, and so you happily realize that not only did he locate the source of the malfunction in your device, but his cheerful/confident tone also indicates that he knows how to fairly-easily correct said issue, and so presumably you should be "back up and running" without too much delay or expense.

I always love experiencing that wonderful "Ohhhhhhh...!" moment whenever I take a malfunctioning vehicle or household device in for service, since it means that the device is indeed repairable after all, and won't be that much trouble to get operating normally again.
