White Nervousness

White nervousness is when a white person isn’t necessarily racist but does get nervous around POC, typically black people. This term is also used for people who either don’t know or in denial about being racist.

Person A: “Man, Emily keeps saying that what Keith said to Jazmin was racially motivated when it really wasn’t.”
Person B: “She’s probably has white nervousness and is diverting attention to others so that people don’t notice how racist she actually is.”
