Keeping their English accents and strong ties to England, they're often quite ignorant of Irish history and tend to be very clannish, living in lose communities, particularly in East Clare and West Cork.

A word used to downgrade a woman into a generic. Men use it so they don't have to remember the name of the woman he is trying to bed down at the moment. Also used as a fail safe so not to accidentally call a woman by the wrong name. Men have long used the term because many lack respect towards their fellow females. This is not exclusive to just baby......sweetheart, honey, beautiful, gorgeous, babygirl.......etc are synonyms. Real women do not appreciate the disrespect of being called anything else other than our name.
