Tied to the same post is similar to saying we run in the same circle. It’s described as two or more people connected to a post and only being able to walk in the same circle as far as they can reach.

A joke that if one football club winning a decisive match or winning a trophy, the football club(s) of the same city / region can share the happiness and glory because of that.

This is advocated by a Hong Kong football commentator Wing-Kei Lee during a match with Everton against Manchester City in 2013-14 season. He is also known as Wing-Kei Li(verpool) , whose commentating way is sometimes unprofessional.

In 2013-14 season, Liverpool and Manchester City were the main rivalry and contestants for premier league trophy. The premier league trophy was not won by any Merseyside (The place where Liverpool and Everton football club locate) football clubs. In the decisive match with Everton against Manchester City, from a general point of view, if Everton defeats Man City, Liverpool will be adventageous to winning the trophy that the football clubs of Merseyside did not won before, therefore Everton should be motivated and stimulated for the glory of the same city to win this decisive match.

Not landing on the same rock

When you're just not on the same wavelength or the same thought pattern as someone else, and it is causing tension between you.
This is usually unintentional, and can be frustrating for both people.

Guy 1: "Dude, you're kinda getting on my nerves today"
Guy 2: "Sorry man, I'm not trying to do anything on purpose"
