How well you know someone that defines the appropriateness of the things you say to this person. You probably have high relationship cred with your bff but low relationship cred with the stranger in line ahead of you at the grocery store.

The nerd equivalent of street cred. It is essentially a person's trustworthiness (or 'cred' for 'credibility') as someone who knows what's up on the Internet. The fewer degrees of separation one has from the cradles of new developments - such as following the right accounts on Twitter, being there when the very first incarnation of a new meme-to-be ever got posted on an imageboard, etc. - the more net cred one has. Essentially: a qualitative measure of one's experience with or knowledge of the Internet as a community at large.
You got 10k followers on Twitter because of your cyber news channel on YouTube? Boy, I guess you must legit have a lot of net cred with quite a few of people then, huh?

When you start to get a bit buzzed so you switch to shitty light beer when you've been tossing back the good shit. You keep your empty glass to prove you can handle a real beer.
Erin wouldn't let the bartender take her empty Guinness to prove she still had her beer cred while she drank her miller light.

Hey Bro, I heard you banged Charlotte.
Yeah, I did last night, several times.
You just scored max skeet cred with that score.
You know it.

A high reputation, credibility, or respect within one's school. Sort of like street cred but only pertaining to people you know in school.
