The first sorority designed for black women. The organization was founded at Howard University in 1908. The organzation was created to be supreme in service to all mankind. AKA has always been a big supporter of the arts, as well. Though concerned with its "image," much of the service work is done quietly by members in communities all over the world. The organization's membership is over 200,000 college-educated women. The sorority has been launching civil rights, education, economic empowerment, and health programs designed to better the world since its founding. Its members are generally though of to be ladies among women. The official colors are salmon pink and apple green, and the official mascot is the ivy leaf. AKAs are generally thought of as being women who have the total package: brains, beauty, elegance, charm, and quiet strength. The organization continues to prove its relevance and its ability to stand the test of time with grace and strength. Some terms commonly associated with Alpha Kappa Alpha are: first and finest, 20 pearls, ivy, "mirror," skee-wee, AKAtude, lady, etc.

Alpha Kappa Alpha was the FIRST greek organization to be recognized as an accredited observer at the United Nations during the 1940s.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

This is the first African American Sorority founded in 1908 with a motto "By culture and by merit". Alpha Kappa Alpha believes in sisterhood and service and has been positively impacting the world for the past 103 years! The colors are salmon pink and apple green. These women are often looked at as classy, beautiful, intelligent and passionate about their goals. They promote high ethical and moral standards, promote education, unity and friendship among college women, maintain progressive interest in college life and provide service. They paved the way and set the example for other sororities to follow. Alpha Kappa Alpha is the First and the Finest! Three times imitated, but Never duplicated. If you're looking for a lifelong bond with strong women and to help make a change in the world around you, this is the sorority for you!

Kappa Mikey

A hilarious amerime show that focuses on an American actor, Mikey Simon, lost in Japan where he becomes an action superstar. With his costars...a bratty blonde Lily, a beautiful misunderstood Mitsuki, a loveable oaf Gonard, and a furry neurotic (at times) Guano...he fights life challenges that relate (well, sort of) to the show they act in. Onu, the producer and really the only character with a Japanese accent, and his servant Yes Man (YES!) are side characters.

The show itself is a parody of animes with a little American spice added in. This is controversial among fans of anime. Some believe it is great that anime is spreading throughout the world while others believe it should be only Japanese/Asian. Also, some believe that anime is being made fun of. It is, but others say it is being made fun of for the sake of anime. Only true fans of anime can appreciate the parody 100% because the references to so many animes are only understood by the anime community.

Those who are not true fans of anime are immersed by the stereotypical anime styles American style. Thus, if they did not watch it or like it before, but watch this show because of its American influence, they might actually think, "Hey! This is cool stuff!" and watch more anime.

(For me, I am a fan of anime, and I think that it is great to finally spread anime to those non-anime fans. Also, I think they aired Kappa Mikey to honour anime!)

Kappa Delta Phi

The most gentlemanly/badass dudes you will ever get to be around. Not only do they uphold chivalry (not like other frat douches) they also generally respect everyone. At the same time they are not a bunch of lame virgins, Kappa's can drink; and they can do it better than you can.

Guy1: Hey, did you hear there is a party at Kappa Delta Phi this weekend.

Guy2: Not only are we not cool enough to hang with those guys, the last time I tried to out-drink them I had to go to the hospital.

the biggest lushes at Univ. of California, Riverside and the hardest partiers. They also have the most pride in their fraternity, strongest brotherhood, and are apt to do the craziest things.

The first historically black greek letter organization founded by and for african-american women. The illustrious sorority was founded on January 15, 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. Murray, Lavinia Norman, Sarah Merriwether Nutter, Nellie M. Quander, Nellie Pratt Russell, Johanna Berry Shields, Lucy Diggs Slowe, Minnie Beatrice Smith, Carrie E. Snowden, Marie Woolfolk Taylor and Harriet Josephine Terry. The colors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are Salmon Pink and Apple Green, the national flower is the Pink Tea Rose, and the national symbol is the Ivy Leaf. The sorority is known for it has continued it's "Service To All Mankind" through community service throughout the years.
