When an innocent person is forced to make a fake confession and have to plead guilty to a crime they didn't commit so as to not get a lengthy prison sentence.
Due to a series of unfortunate events, a botched investigation by misguided police and an overzealous prosecutor the indicted individual found themself in court before a judge on trumped up charges. Thinking of their family and following they're lawyers advice the only option available was to fakefess thereby receiving fines and probation instead of going to prison.
