Unlike normal smugness, Scrabble Smugness is notoriously difficult to hide and even statements such as "I was lucky that time" or "It's just the tiles" will do nothing to reassure the opponent(s) that there is no smugness.
Typically Scrabble Smugness will manifest itself as a peculiar grin, and is accompanied by feelings of superiority and an over-estimation of one's intelligence. In many cases, Scrabble Smugness will induce feelings of Scrabble Rage in the opponent(s).
