"Rog" is a derogatory term targeting Black
people, derived from "Balrog", a Street Fighter character criticized for perpetuating racist stereotypes. The term gained traction through LTG’s (
Dale Wilson) streams, where he weaponized it to demean Black opponents and viewers.
Dalauan Emanuel Wilson, formerly known as
Dale Wilson, also known as LTG (Low Tier God), is a 6'0 " (1.85 m) African American male weighing ~209 lbs (95 kg) was born in November
1984 and has a daughter born in 2014 from a previous relationship; accused of neglect and unpaid child support.
In Street Fighter II, Balrog is a Black boxer modeled after "Mike Tyson", depicted as violent, unintelligent, and criminal.
The character embodies harmful tropes:
- "
Lazy Black
Man": Barred from boxing for cheating.
- "Criminal": Works for the villainous Shadaloo syndicate.
- "Hypermasculine Aggressor": Relies on brute strength over skill
LTG (
Dale Wilson) frequently used "Balrog" as a slur during streams, associating it with racial stereotypes like "
ghetto behavior" or "coonery."
"Shut your nigg(er) black ass up... goddamn Tyrone ass Balrog" - LTG (
Dale Wilson)
*During a Street Fighter V stream, LTG lost to a Black opponent and raged:*
"Of course I lose to a nigg(er) Balrog main... stay in the
ghetto where you belong, Rog!"- LTG (
Dale Wilson)
