ramen, contrary to regular belief, is a bowl of noodles and broth with assorted sliced meats and vegetables laid out on top of it. It is commonly served at stands and resturants in Japan. It is most widely known in america as the dehydrated version with noodles and flavoring powder in a styrofoam cup. this is not, however, the correct usage of the term. the term most people mean to say is "instant lunch" or "top ramen"
