The most pointless set of exams in the country. They're even worse more stupid than the SATs. And only in New York are they a requirement for graduation. 9 times out of 10, you don't need to even take the class to pass them.

I got a 90 on a practice biology regents before I even entered 9th grade.

A New York State exam. There are Earth science, biology, and chemistry regents, math sequential A and B regents, english regents, F-Language regents, Global/American History regents, and God-knows-what-else regents.

I've taken Bio, Global, and Earth science and they were easier than the teachers made it seem.

regents

a test only given in new york state and is required to graduate along with 22 credits. in order to graduate you need to pass atleast 5 regents. 1 science (any science class, living environment, earth science, chemistry, etc), 1 math (any math class, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry etc), 1 english, and 2 history(global and U.S). Regents are given 3 times a year January, June, and August. you take your first regent exam and if you fail you can take the test in august. (in yonkers,you have to go to summer school to take it for free, you can go to a different district and pay $75 to take it in august you don’t go to summer school) if you don’t take it in august or fail you take it in january, and it’s basically an endless cycle of retaking the test until you pass. and you can’t graduate without passing those 5.

Regents

A meaningless exam that some states force all High Schoolers to take each year. If you fail it, nothing really happens except you being forced to take it again. You only have to pass 5 specific regents to graduate, which are all stupidly easy. There's absolutely no point to this exam as it's tailored so that even the niggest can pass. It's also the main reason why the rest of the world sees America's education system as what it is: a complete joke.

Here's an example from the New York Geometry Regents---getting 41 credits out of 86 (half the test right) nets you a 65%. Come in with your calculator and slam your face on the test and you'll pass, and if you don't come in during August and you'll definitely pass.

Fred: Oh shit, I've got Regents in one hour!

Zach: Those things don't count outside of New York.

Fred: Wait really?

Zach: Yeah, and colleges only care if you pass it or not. You could get a 100 or a 65 and it wouldn't matter for shit.

Jason: I just wrote all the formulas I'd need for my math regents on my arm because they aren't on the reference sheet for some reason.

Zach: Yeah that's what I did the proctors don't give a shit.

Regents Exam 

The most pointless waste of time and energy ever designed by Albany to further prove how ineffectual and idle they are.
Some regents are easy but tedious while others are hard and badly worded. The Regents is only noticed by Colleges in NY state and thats whether you passed or not. The system of passing is also flawed as hell. The passing could be 35 out of 86 or 45 or 55. Some regents have no curve and you get what you get. If you fail you either go to summer school and or take the test again (which is pointless as you probably forgot everything). Many Teachers feel that the regents is constraining their class room creativity. Some teachers spend more time warning you about how hard and stressful the regents is then encouraging you. You cant graduate without taking those stupid exams and this shit has been around since the 1870s so every generation can expect to be hit by this massive turd.

1)Teacher: Fail the regents exam and Jesus will hate you.

2)Student: I failed the Regents by one point.
Regents Board : Sucks to be you LOL

3)Student: I passed the Global Regents with a 100, do I get to go to college for free
College Outside New York : The fucks a Regis ?

4)Student: I freaking aced the Algebra regents man I got 98, I'm a fucking genius I'm going to Harvard!!
Student: Only New York Schools look at the regents and thats to see if you passed or not.
