The person or thing that is in favour
David was the most popular boy, therefor he (had been 'favouritised') was the most liked by the others.

Laura could not jump the queue as her auntie was the cashier, otherwise she would have been seen by the other customers to have been treated favourably (to be 'favouritised'), leading to complaints.
