Sushi Purgatory 

The time of day, between 2 and 4 in the afternoon, where sushi restaurants are closed between lunch and dinner, making it excessively hard to find sushi.

We tried 4 different restaurants, but found ourselves trapped in sushi purgatory.

Wedding Purgatory

A state of being somewhere being wedding heaven and wedding hell. This usually occurs when plans are not going quite as smoothly as the bride-to-be had hoped, but have not yet reached the point to where she must turn into Bridezilla to get things done.

Jessica: “Congratulations Cindy! Enjoy this time! Aren’t you so excited about your wedding?!”

Future Bridezilla: “Eh – this isn’t as much fun as I thought it would be. Really, I’ve been stuck in Wedding Purgatory for a while now.”

Party Purgatory 

The limbo-like state between a daytime activity (party, barbeque, crawfish boil, festivity, etc.)and a night time party.

Party Purgatory usually conveys the idea that one has yet to determine what night-time event to pursue.

Usually, the period of party purgatory is a good opportunity to catch a nap, meal, shower, or change of clothes.

Phone Call: "Hello...Yeah, we just got in from the Crawfish boil and are just hanging around the house for a little while.......No I don't know if we are going to the concert or to Sally's party yet. We are in Party Purgatory right now.

Zubat Purgatory 

A term used in Pokémon Sun & Moon when a Zubat calls for help, in turn summoning another Zubat with full health. After killing the first Zubat and lowering the health of the next Zubat, it proceeds to call for help, summoning yet another Zubat. This process can continue for over 10 minutes.

Person 1 (to Person 2): Hey Michael's been fighting those Zubats for quite some time now..
Person 2 (to Person 1): Yeah, it seems he's trapped in Zubat Purgatory at the moment..
