Most believe this to be only a term used by feminists when they don't have a reply, however it is a term actually meant to explain with someone is patronizing or belittling your intelligence due to your gender.

Misandrist term used in the extreme pejorative sense by female chauvinists to denigrate efforts by men to offer explanations for multifarious phenomena.

e.g. Susan talking in an angry voice to her life-partner Dave: You're such a typical man, I hate the way that you always mansplain the most ridiculously simple things to me as if I'm just a child and too stupid to understand.

Mansplain 

A term used when a person (usually a man) explains something to someone (usually a woman) in a way that is inherently condescending.

Often misunderstood as any time a man disagrees with a woman - thereby deeming it a sexist slur against men as it implies that any difference of opinion with a woman automatically makes him a sexist - it is about the context of what is being explained.

Thus, while whatever it is usually IS factual, it is insulting in its delivery.

Example: Two coworkers (one man, one woman) work in finance. They go to lunch. When the check comes, the male coworker slyly offers to teach her a "trick," then proceeds to explain how to calculate a 10% tip.

The female coworker might say, "He mansplained how to move a decimal."

To explain something in an unnecessarily long winded way, so as to dominate the conversation, and to make statements that are not based on facts, assuming that people will believe and agree with him because he is male.

"The recession was caused by the government because it spent too much money and people should look after themselves and not expect society to look after its members or its community... ad nauseam.
...Therefore its all womens fault."

Mansplain 

Despite claims of superior strength in avoiding over-emotional reactions, when a man encounters even one iota of criticism of men on the internet, he must then mansplain why women suck by comparison or must be radical feminists.

Mansplain--to put women down in response to criticism.

Even though Mansplain only points out a specific aspect of what some men do but not in every context, explainerOrMansplainer and Wicker33 were so overcome by the inability to accept criticism and had to condescendingly mansplain how women must be either dumb; (ironically) unable to take criticism (derp!); or should be dismissed as radical.
