Online, to replace the smile, the following smileys are often used: ^_^, :), =) plus other variations. Those can be replaced by a simple *smiles*.

Smile is a verb. People do it for some reasons.reason: to show people their emotion wich is happy,excited and normal. lots of people seem to do it but people dont do it all the time.
eg. yesterday i saw a girl smile because its her birthday.
