Stossel -v- to ask a short question, often of a skeptical nature, with an over-the-top imitation of John Stossel's voice and tone in a mock-serious manner so as to provoke the phrase (See first example). To arrange the facts to fit one's beliefs, rather than the other way around. Derived from the name of ABC host John Stossel, who creates journalistic reports that conform to his neoconservative beliefs, rather than assemble facts to create a news story.
We knew he was stosseling when he took the estimate from the autobody shop and claimed that the car could still be rebuilt, even though it was $100 from being totalled.
