gyppo 

Originally a derogatory term for Romani people, who were known by the British population as gypsies because it was falsely believed that they originated from Egypt.

With the arrival of Irish Travellers in Britain, the terms "gyppo" and "gypsy" were also applied to these people.

Nowadays the term "gyppo", like "pikey", is often used as an insult to refer to anyone who is perceived to be poor, dirty, smelly and/or inclined to theft.

Gyppo 

In the United Kingdom, a Gyppo is essentially a nomad. Also known as travellers, they wander from city to city across the country for a variety of reasons, some personal, some financial (no fixed address means they can easily evade local council tax). The term "Gyppo" is normally seen as a derogatory term and is used accordingly. Plural = Gyppos. Social views on Gyppos are more often than not negative, as the other reviewers on this page can demonstrate. Allegations against the traveller tribes include accusasions of vandalism, assault on local residents, litter, and a general nusiance. Also from time to time they build and entrench an organise "Traveller Camp", where local officialls and police can take some time to act to evict them from thier unlawful settlement. During this time around many traveller camps there have been complaints of noise, litter, drug deals and lewd or violent conduct towards local residents.

A dirty person who lives in a caravan and thinks that it's normal to steal things such as hub-caps and car stereos. These people come in two shapes: really fat with long greasy hair or really skinny with a greasy brushed-forward fringe.

When out for a night on the tiles, the preffered choice of dress for a gyppo is the classic Ben Sherman baggy shirt with pin-striped trousers, finishing the look with a pair of Kickers shoes with those leather laces. The fighting reputation of some Gyppos is so strong that doormen of some bars and clubs have been known to allow a Gyppo entance, wearing Addids Three-Striped tracksuit bottoms instead of the pin-stripes, in order to avoid the start of trouble.

Do go in that pub. It's full of Gyppos.

A horrible group of people. They live in caravans, steal absoluteley ANYTHING and are general scumbags. They hate all the normal people because they are jealous of our lives where we actually earn a living and don't assault anyone who looks at us or have to steal everything. They drive white transits as a rule and I don't think their are any exceptions of the rule that GYPPOs=scum. The town I live in could be a nice place but the whole area is ruined by their presence. Don't believe me? Try this little true scenario.
2003=my mate skating by himself in town. Two huge gyppos in their twenties come over, without warning punch him in the face while wearing a fat ring, break his nose and then laugh.
2004=Me with a group of friends at a skatepark. 10 gypsies come in. 7 of them start on me. Reason?=none. Result=black eyes, bleeding ear and mouth.
If anyone ever tries to defend gypsies, just try fucking living near some. Its not romantic or a good way of living, they are REPULSIVE TRAMPS who will get what is coming to them. Writing about them makes me so angry I want to go and shoot someone.
Gyppos are hideous inbred muthafuckas, who live in caravan fights and are romantically connected to their sisters. They start fights on people for no reason and should die.
If i'd been born a gypsy I'd kill myself.
