A conspiracy by the FBI and/or other government agents to produce the appearance of a crime against said government. It is perpetrated by using federal agents to recruit low-IQ individuals to concoct a plot to abduct, murder, or otherwise do umbrage to the Federal Government. Usually at least one agent per conspirator is needed. If successful, the 'conspirators' can be arrested and a spectacular (and expensive) show trial ensues, the Federal Government gaining much cred thereby.
The latest fednapping trial ended with the acquittals of two of the four defendants, and a mistrial for the other two.
Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
