Ayanami
A female character in the controversial anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion". She has light blue hair and red eyes even though her most hated color is the color red because it is te color of blood. She rarely displays any emotion during the length of the anime series. Rei Ayanmi was created in the Chamber of Gauf by combining the DNA of Shinji Ikari's mother( Yui Ikari) and the second angel Lilith. There are many Ayanamis down in the Chamber of Gauf and they are all empty vessels to which a soul must be transferred to them to make them whole. She unites with Lilith in the End of Evangelion in order to initiate the Third Impact or the Human Instrumentality Project. She has a small amount of genetic makeup from Yui Ikari so therefore is Shinji Ikari's "relative". She ultimately dies during The End of Evangelion because Shinji Ikari rejected her gift of the Third Impact.
Rei Ayanami is one of the most interesting and complex characters in the anime series:"Neon Genesis Evangelion".

Ayanami
1. The only interesting anime character ever, with no comparison and no equal, only applicable in conjunction with Rei.
2. One of the evangelion pilots from some anime show about an annoying japanese boy who whines about too much crap. Ayanami Rei, a female, is the only interesting person in the cast/crew/whatever, even though she is a fictional character. She is half human and half evil alien creature.
3. The only good thing to come out of japan since highly advanced forms of live vivisection and germ warfare. O, and they discovered the positron and anti-matter, which was not too bad.
4. Some kind of japanese word, it's english meaning is unknown.

Rei Ayanami (ˆ»”g ƒŒƒC, Ayanami Rei?) is a fictional character from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and the films Evangelion: Death and Rebirth and The End of Evangelion.
Rei Ayanami is the First Child (First Children in the Japanese version) and pilot of Unit 00. She is socially withdrawn and rarely interacts with anyone, except for NERV Commander Gendo Ikari, to whom she initially displays some loyalty but with whom she has a generally distant relationship (she says in Episode 15 that she "doesn't know what kind of person he is"). She lives by herself in a drab, dingy, underfurnished apartment in Tokyo-3, a clutter of books being her only apparent luxury items (assuming they are not, in fact, schoolbooks). Toward the end of the series, Shinji Ikari comments that her apartment is very similar to the place where Ritsuko Akagi says she was born.
