Pronounced: ob-er-in-d
The act of completely throwing away an advantage (whether it be in sports, games or life in general) where the end result is a complete and utter lost or
failure.
Origins: comes from the TV show "Game of Thrones" where Oberyn Martell was
winning a trial by combat and ended up losing the battle (and his
life) due to his pride and him doing a monologue. His opponent was stabbed through the abdominal and was completely helpless on the ground. Yet, he still managed to lose.
