1) A closet-like piece of furniture, much like a wardrobe or armoire, but with one side being a long space for hanging clothes and other side with drawers. The word is derived from the French "chiffonier" and wardrobe.

2) An item of furniture one may be invited to "bust up" as a euphemism for sex, especially between a Caucasian woman and an African-American man.
Mayella Ewell in the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962): "I was sittin' on the porch, and he come along. Uh, there's this old chifforobe in the yard, and I-I said, 'You come in here, boy, and bust up this chifforobe, and I'll give you a nickel.'"

The frustration of waiting for a particular bus and having every number BUT the one for which you are waiting stop. Also applies to buses with the correct number, but which are going in the opposite of your intended direction.
I've been waiting for the number 10 for 30 minutes and only the 65, 34, and 15 have stopped here so far - I'm so bustrated!

OMG, so bustrated - how many number 25s *downtown* do I have to see across the street before the 25 *uptown* gets here?!

A bet on which celebrities or public figures will die during a given period of time.

All participants agree on the amount to bet and choose 10, 15, or 20 famous people for their individual list. Duplicates are allowed, as long as each list is not exactly the same.

The person who guesses the most deaths during the time period wins the entire pool. In the case of a tie, the dead pool may continue for another month or more in hopes of a tie-breaker, or the winners may split the proceeds.

Most dead pools begin on January 1st and finish on December 31 of the same year.
Three weeks into the new year and I've already marked a celeb and an athlete off on my dead pool.
