Western U.S. slang, similar to Dadblastit and Dadgummit, used to express frustration or annoyance. This word was often used by Hoss of TV's Bonanza series.

battered woman 

1) Woman who has had pancake batter thrown on her.
2) Woman whose hair or appendages are caught in mixer while preparing cake batter.
3) Woman in softball league who was formerly a pitcher, but is now a batter.
Emily's pitching arm wore out, so the team made her a Battered Woman.

Expression of surprise. Not sure of origin, but possibly evolved from the following conversation:

Fred: "I inherited several square feet of land?"
Will: "No, dad gave you several ACRES!"
Fred (surprised): "Gee, Will, acres?!"
