A lot of my friends are L&P types and are angry at the way Bernie Sanders was stabbed in the back by the Democratic Party power structure.

A derisive shortening of the term "progressives" in the American context - those who consider the Democratic Party too right wing, think that American foreign policy should be reoriented away from killing foreigners, and so on.
