A persons behavior or condition that is reminiscent of a laboratory rat that has been exposed to an excess of some chemical, toxin, or treatment, causing it to be or behave in an abnormal manner, rendering it useless for further scientific study.

We were drunk as lab rats.

ballast

Ballast is a friendly reference to; a mate, sidekick, wife, bitch, girlfriend, boyfriend, trick, pal, etc. but especially the person who rides shotgun with them in their car.
Used by Eddie Haskel to describe Lumpy in an episode of "Leave It To Beaver".

The Cisco Kid had Pancho for ballast, Tarzan had Cheeta.

A person who is a nuscance, a buttfly, like the flies on a horses ass. Gay men who hit on straight men. Gay men who make unwanted advances on other gay men.

We had to leave. Buttflies were so thick, you couldn't fart without hitting one in the face.
