"/graf fee nee/" are fragmentary nuggets of compositions. UltraVioletIdea.com coined the term in the spirit of Erik Satie’s "Gymnopédies." "Finit" means "end" in French...generally short in duration, their end is in sight. Like the atom-thin form of carbon called graphene, a grafinit’s undeniable strength allows it to be built upon; yet like graffiti, it is impromptu and fleeting.
That grafinit was a solo piano piece of just 4 measures, but it filled me with emotion in a way that many longer sad songs could not.
