crimminy

a very old irish oath with several spellings, a bastardization of "christ", i think. my grandmother says this a lot.

"crimminy, ralph, the phone is ringing! pick up the phone! no, i don't know where it is. well, where did you leave it? crimminy, why did you leave it out there? no, never mind, it's stopped ringing. dammit, it was probably betty. frank's probably died and we'll have to wait 'till tomorrow to find out about it, now won't we? oh, stop crying, ralph! crimminy!"

heterosexism

prejudiced belief in the social/sexual/moral superiority of heterosexuals or heterosexual attraction over non-heterosexals or same-sex attraction.

one's actions or attitude as a reflection of such a prejudice.

justin took the brunt of his peers' heterosexism throughout high school.

grandmother

any kindly, sweet old woman who will happily boost your self-esteem and write you letters and love you. tends to know lots of neat old songs and obscure, off-color jokes. generally much cooler and less scary than one's actual mother.

be nice to your grandmother- or you'll wind up in hell.

ambi

short for ambiguous. one who's affections, romantic platonic or sexual, are potentially geared towards anyone regardless of sex or gender. also pansexual.

some people might label jenni "bi" but she perfers the term ambi.

lady killer

an especially handsome man (or handsome woman, depending) with debonair, genteel manners, a slick demeanor, good taste, and an eye for attractive ladies.

they just don't make fellas like that any more.
