ABS
Stands for Anti-Lock Braking System. Often equipped on cars made after 1995, when someone panics and slams the brake, the module detects slip and cycles the brakes to prevent lockup of the wheels. 2 wheel ABS is rare and only comes on some SUVs from 1990-2000, where it cycles the rear brakes due to the weight being lighter on the rear. 4 wheel ABS is the most common, used from many cars from 1995 onward, where the front and rear brakes are cycled if slip is detected.
