The endless sprawl of identikit mass produced housing that surrounds most towns and cities in the western world. Lacking the rural tranquility of the countryside and the spirit, history and community of the inner cities they are designe to enduce a life numbing stupor into it's inhabitents to keep the 'prolls' under control. Also known as concrete deserts, they are the loneliest, most soul destroying and down right dull places on the face of the planet.

Brick Shithouse 

UK usage-

A very big person, normally male who is as broad as he is tall yet carries very little fat. Not the sort of person you would willingly upset.

Term comes from the large brick built outside toilets once common in working class areas of the UK.
I ain't gonna mess with him, he's a bleedin' brick shithouse.

flog a dead horse 

UK usage

1) To try to carry on when there really is no hope of continuation. To not know when to give up.

2) A unique sexual practise that combines Necrophillia, beastiality and sadomasacism into one fun activity.
Leeds struggled to avoid relegation but they were flogging a dead horse.

Democracy 

A failing system of government, which like communism works in principle but fails in practice.
ALL democracies end up serving the needs of rich interest groups and detach themselves from the populous. which inturn results in the majority of the people being governed by a minority.
The current UK and US governments are both cases where a minority vote has put a leader into power against the wishes of the majority.
