Reputable source

A source that has a reputation, and also has a reputation to lose.
Scientists had been called a reputable source of information rather than misinformation about the coronavirus, and people were told not to question why scientists were reputable or had accurate information nobody else had.

Tough love

Tough love gets things done.
Yesterday, they whined about tough love being abusive and how the guy should be more supportive. Today, they thought doing things in a kinder, gentler way was too weak, and that the guy failed them for lack of tough love.

Tone it down

Someone telling someone else to tone it down usually has nothing to do with race, it's because the other person is full of shit.
He/she didn't like being told that he/she was full of shit even if the person that said tone it down had a point, and the one they said to tone it down to had no point, but still looked for anything he/she could to be argumentative over just to be argumentative, a stop sign being red not being good enough of an answer not to get argumentative about it without good reason, for example.

NBA All Star game

The NBA's All Star game.
The NBA All Star game did come to the city a few years ago without the legislation they were trying to push getting passed, so what they're saying about the city losing it was bullshit.
There is a difference between questioning the legitimacy/intentions of all sides and angles of a claim, and defending rape or a rapist, though some, if not many feminists would try to silence any male that doesn't see it their way without questioning anything. Questioning the legitimacy/intentions of all sides of a claim also includes questioning the accused.
Sometimes a claim is made with an intent to lead people to make assumptions about somebody that aren't based on reality, other times the claim is close to being exact reality, and in between all of this is a gray area where someone on one of the sides isn't going to be happy with the verdict, no matter what it is.

Vaccine resistance

There's always going to be someone that expects you to lose everything to keep yourself out of line, but some things are worth not falling in line.
Vaccine resistance isn't futile, there's a good reason for it. Life is worth losing.

Vaccine resistance

Life being made difficult for the ones resisting vaccines might sway more and more people that were tentative about whether to get a vaccine or not, but it won't sway the ones who have already made their minds up.
Vaccine resistance is only vaccine resistance when it's no longer popular or easy to resist getting in line with someone else's agenda. Until then it's just a number of unvaccinated people.
