down the road

When a guy quits or gets fired from a construction job, his new status is "down the road"

"Where's Bill today?"
"Down the road."

"Since when?"
"Since he didn't show up for work Monday morning. The boss had to let him go."

A construction term for minute, small in scale or insignificant.

They are sending me all the way across town to build a chickenshit stem wall that's only three feet tall!

This 2 hour wait at the DMV is a bunch of fuzzy bull shoes!

It is cholo slang for shit list. If someone "puts you on the leva" you are on their shit list, i.e. you got nothing coming!
