Sympathy

Something you don't have for somebody you never met before. You don't care about somebody you never met, because you don't even like somebody you never met.

You have to have met somebody at least once to even know if you like them, let alone feel any other way about them. You don't feel sympathy for a guy you don't even know, and if you say you do, no matter what you tell everyone else, there is no deceiving yourself about the matter, no matter how desperately you try. George Floyd's trial has become people that never even met the guy pretending to feel things nobody would feel for somebody they never met, if they were honest with themselves.

Succubus

A girl that tries to take all the fight out of everyone she meets until either everybody around her has as little fight in them as she does in her, or anybody who does keep going ends up turned against each other.

The guy might have kept himself on track, but got distracted unknowingly by the succubus trying to drain all his life force out until she could stop him in his tracks.

Victory

There is no such thing as victory against the coronavirus, there is only not losing more. If nobody takes a stand, everybody takes a fall.

Not losing more lives, businesses, jobs, or rights isn't victory, it's an end to the spread of (and fuel for) the wildfire, an end to the loss of everything.

Sick and tired

A lot of people say they're sick and tired, when really theyre irritated and frustrated. If you're not terminally ill, you're not sick in the way that you mean when you say sick and tired. If you haven't been awake for days on end working around the clock, you're not really tired. You're just irritated and frustrated with something.

People are not really sick and tired, they're irritated and frustrated, and they've been irritated and frustrated for a long time now.
