If people dont fight for it, no matter who is in office, everything and everyone will get shut down or locked down, and only the people shutting and locking everything down will have any rights.
Democracy sounds good, but people had to fight and bleed for it to make it a reality when someone first came up with the idea.

Get the Democracymug. People are skeptical about astrology for a reason. An astrology book tells you that an Aquarian is cozy in a hammock. There's a lot of people who go and get a hammock, and there's no way all of them could be Aquarians. That's like saying if you meet somebody who likes pizza or red wine, you can tell they are an Aries. Then, if you question what you're reading, astrology tells you that the traits don't apply to every single person, and where the planets were in the sky when they were born can alter someone's personality. Some people would still say they're right about astrology, now that they've explained it that way, that sounds good to them, but to others it starts to sound a little bit silly (much like the bible).
Information about astrology is like information from scientists, politicians, or religion, it's questionable.

They had the money to spend to make some things happen, such as bring him to Carolina, but that's not the same thing as being serious. Some people with lots of money think that way. The former Panthers owner at least stuck with the same team through the years, win or lose, no matter what bad things people have to say about him.

Get the Scapegoatmug. Doing something good doesn't make something bad you did go away. There is no righting wrongs or turning horrors into fairy tales. The one chance you have to right a wrong is when you have the choice to do the wrong, or not do the wrong. If you fuck up, you fucked up, and it comes with consequences, it's as simple as that. There is no erasing one history and replacing it with something that seems to make everybody smile because that isn't reality. The reality is, there are things humans have fucked up at in this country for a long time. One of them was that until yesterday, there had never been a female holding an office as a head of state or a vice head of state. A female getting elected to that position didn't right a wrong, the wrong remains, and the choices will also remain in the future. Racism is also like that, it doesn't get better or go away with time, it has to be worked on otherwise nothing gets done.
Spending a lot of time trying to right wrongs takes time away from things you can take your time on and not fuck up from here, since trying to right wrongs gets nothing done. If you have time to live your life ashamed of every wrong thing you had ever done, you can live your life ashamed, but you're still going to have a lot of shit to do at some point, and there's less and less time to get it done with every day that passes.
