They're also good at outsmarting a district attorney that really doesn't want to successfully prosecute a cop, since nobody wants to be the one who does. District attorneys want to successfully prosecute people they know they have a good chance of making a charge stick around for a while. Interestingly enough, trying to prosecute cops lowers their conviction rate, so you'd think they'd try to do a better job at it.
The cop was wearing a teflon shirt in the courtroom like many before him. Many had tried to make a charge stick and ended up wasting everybody's time in doing so.

Get the Teflon shirt mug.The death of George Floyd means as much to non-protestors who didnt know him as it does to protestors who didnt know him, the difference is you dont hear about lootings/robberies, killings, arson, or other similar activities connected with non-protestors. What do the people screaming bullshit about change expect to happen to a cop when they're getting away with their own crimes too? It's the store owners and customers who end up fucked when the protestors are done not really doing shit, or making a new point, but all the stuff they were willing to pay for is gone, and everybody else is fucked, but some of the protestors are making money off what they got from the store.
When was the last time a protest calling for change actually changed the way cops did things? They wear cameras nowadays, and that hasn't stopped them from breaking the laws. What do protestors realistically expect to get accomplished, of those that really are trying to do more than clear out a stores merchandise or shoot at somebody because they haven't gotten to shoot at somebody without consequences before. Human weakness can sometimes spread like wildfire, what started as one weak person can become more weakness.

Get the Technology mug.Some people think that when someone is killed on tv, that people are trying to make an example of what they can keep getting away with, even if everyone can see it. That's power to be able to kill right in front of everybody and nothing happens to you.
The death of george floyd was an illuminating event for some, even if they had seen something like it before. White people do get killed in videos, but you dont see them getting killed by cops, usually you see contractors getting heads cut off and shit like that. Death is a lot like cinema or the box office, you have people who are in the business of death videos, and they know people never get enough trauma. Some people thought of it as an illuminati example.

Get the Illuminati example mug.Unemployment isnt a comfortable life, even for people who get benefits. Theres something essential about having a steady job, theres a reason most people would rather work than be unemployed with benefits for an extended time, and many would rather go to work than work from home. Having a job gives a lot of people a sense of being a part of something outside their family, or what's at home, it's not something that can be replaced. Most of the people who are unemployed and getting benefits aren't living that way because it's what they wanted to do since they were kids, they live that way because the business they worked for shut down.
