Advantage

Something an underdog really has while pretending not to. People would rather the underdog triumph than the one described as the favorite.
He/she was full of shit by calling himself/herself an underdog, but knew that he/she could gain an advantage on an opposing person/team by calling himself/herself an underdog (and end up facing less adversity by doing so while placing more adversity on the opponent, throwing the game/race, a way to get support from people who would not otherwise support them), or claiming that he/she had lower odds overall. Really, since he/she was playing all sides, he/she could always end up on the side that triumphed, as long as people allowed it.

Baseball TV ratings

The main difference between the World Series and the NBA Finals or Stanley Cup Finals in 2020 was the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals weren't played on time, they were played at a different time of year than usual.
Coronavirus isnt an excuse for bad Baseball TV ratings, since more people than usual are at home and out of work, you would think more people than usual would be watching TV, not less. People knew the World Series was going on by the time they found out the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals still went on.

Assumption

An assumption is never a good reason to make a decision.
The moron did radiation treatment based on the assumption he had cancer, rather than actually knowing he was sick. He died from the radiation treatment instead.

Red or blue pill

Limiting someone's choices to two choices, rather than giving them a broad selection of choices.
Guy- Will you choose the red or blue pill?
Other guy- I don't take drugs, so I will choose not to take any pills or bullshit.

An enemy of an enemy is a lot like an ally, since it's a double negative.
Girl- I'm not just pretending to be your ally, this is coming from the bottom of my heart, I'm your true friend. You don't buy that? Well buy these blue pills and you'll see who your true friends are.

The girl tried to persuade the guy to buy pills he wasn't going to take.
