porchulacka
Da flowering ground-cover dat gets planted in da area of bare earth near da door to a human dwelling where a walkway-platform had previously existed.
Maybe if Da Kingfish and Andy Brown had planted a cheery-colored bed of porchulacka in da empty spot where dey had cluelessly dismantled a perfectly-good wooden landing by mistake, do house's owners might not have been quite so seethingly incensed by said horrendous error.

midigation
Maybe if da infamous teen-aged repeat offender who was sentenced to suffering through hearing his mom sing "America The Beautiful" on da court karaoke ("because jail is too good for you, and has previously been ineffective in curtailing your irresponsible behavior") had instead merely been compelled to listen to said patriotic song's melody on a laptop, said less-painful penalty might have been somewhat of a midigation of da distress dat said juvenile delinquent would have otherwise felt at having been caught and sentenced yet again.

Liddygation
Da criminal-court proceedings regarding da infamous bulldog-faced mastermind of da Watergate scandal.
Da notorious mustachioed Nixon-era crook (in addition to "Ol' Tricky" himself, which of course he was, despite his well-known statement to da contrary) went on trial and received a 20-year prison sentence for his role in da scandalous riverside hotel break-in, but then da equally-unpopular "peanut-farmer prez" negated said Liddygation and allowed said high-level culprit to go free after serving little more than a fifth of his sentence.
