Mascot of the free UNIX-like open source operating system OpenBSD.
Each release, which occur twice a year (about six months, give or take one), Puff is given a themed role based on either current events of a joke the developers liked.
Such themes include RamBlow (based on Rambo and the contraversy surrounding cryptography being legal munitions in the United States of America), 077 (Pond, James Pond), Puffy the Kittieslayer (Buffy, the Vampire Slayer), rapper Puffy and most recently Puff the Barbarian.
This Blowfish is used in a variety of tee shirts and posters which can be seen on the OpenBSD site (openbsd.org).

A King ruled the web with fear
Spilling the blood of men
Then from the ocean came
Puff the Barbarian.

A potbellied regular at the Disco 2000 party at Limelight. According to legend, he waited tables at TGIFriday's and used his earnings to buy large quantities of cocaine and ketamine, which he would use to attract young ladies for e-hugs and further fondlings. According to legend, another clubkid, Jessie, got angry with him for breaking off a relationship at a BBQ in front of many mutual friends. Jessie put a curse on Candyman leading to his death.
It is said that anyone who uses ketamine and says his name 3 times in the mirror at the Avalon (new name for limelight) nightclub, will see his ghost rising off the dancefloor at 3 AM, wearing the same old Pacific Sunwear outfit he was notorious for.

According to legend, the ghost of candyman still reigns at Avalon nightclub. Summon him at your own peril.

OpenBSD is a security focused BSD, a Unix-like operating system derived from the BSD 4.4Lite release.
One of the only BSDs actively removing non-BSD compatible code (including anything lisenced as GPL or LGPL code).
It is freely downloadable at anytime by anyone in any country for any use from multiple locations around the world.
The project maintains a small income by selling release CDs, shirts and posters. The money is used to buy hardware and help secure programmers for specific tasks that would take longer then free time might allow.
OpenBSD was forked from NetBSD eight years ago by Theo de Raadt, who was one of the founders of the project, after being forced out of it because of his outspoken attitude.
OpenBSD developers and users tend to be very direct and react poorly to people new to mailing lists not greping through previous messages for answers to their questions before asking. Because of this, they have an image for being very antinewbie.
OpenBSD has one of the most thorough documentations of any of the Unix-like and Unix derivative operating systems.
The project's mascot Puff has most recently been given the theme of Puffy Hood.
