Kurt Cobain was born February 20, 1967, to his father, (an auto mechanic,) and his mother, (a cocktail waitress.) He was born in the town of Hoquaim, a small town only 140 kilometers from Seattle. The Cobain's then moved to Aberdeen, WA. Kurt's parents divorced when he was a child and with his parents divorce came feelings of depression, anti-sociality, and angst. Throughout his school years, Kurt was precieved as an outsider by his classmates and often distanced himself from them. In 1986, Nirvana was formed after a slew of failed bands were dead. Nirvana consisted of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and numerous drummers inclulding Chad Channing and his permanent replacement Dave Grohl. In 1989, Nirvana recorded it's first album, intitled Bleach, for the local label, Sup Pop Records. In 1991, The David Geffen company bought out Nirvana's contract, and the band was signed to Geffen Records. Two and a half years after the release of their first album, Bleach, Nirvana released thier second album, and their most popular, Nevermind. It left a lasting impression on the mainstream music scene. To it's listeners, Nirvana was a breath of fresh air, pulling itself aside from the then stale pop music scene. Nevermind brought in over $550 million dollars, leaving Nirvana "overnight millionares." It was clear that Kurt did not enjoy the fame and publicity and was not going to cope well with their newly acclaimed Rock and Roll lifestyle. Cobian began to use heroin in the early 90's, he claimed to use Herion to calm the pain of his extremely painful stomach disease, that to this day, is unclassified. In 1992, Nirvana released Incesticide and Kurt married the allready pregnant Courtney Love, (their daughter Frances Bean Cobain was born in 1993.) In 1993, Nirvana released In Utero, their most emotional and meaningful album to date. Nirvana later filmed Unplugged for MTV. It was an all acoustic preformance, that inclulded some of Nirvana's smash hits, but most of their lesser known songs, as well as some covers of Nirvana's favorite bands. Unplugged was the last live preformance that Nirvana had before Kurt Cobain died in 1994. Many speculate that Kurts death was suicide, other's blame his wife, Courtney Love, for his murder. Either way, his fans will remember him forever. His music will never die.
Kurt Cobain, in my oppinion is one of the most talented songwriters in music history. His voice is infectious and completely unique. I know that he will never be forgotten.

Sid Vicious, (Simon John Ritchie,) was born May 10, 1957, to his father Micheal and his mother Anne. Shortly after he was born, his father left, and he and his mother moved to the Spanish island of Libza, where Sid's mother made a living selling drugs. By 1974 and 1975 Sid began using methanphetamines and was expirencing anti-social and destructive behaviors. The name Sid Vicious comes from John Lyndon's (Johnny Rotten's) pet hamster. While Sid was not originally a member of the Sex Pistols, he later joined after their bass player, Glenn Matlock, left the band in 1977. It was often said by many close to the band that when the Sex Pistols played live in concert, Sid's amplifyer was turned off or down very low. While this is true, Sid could play bass, just not very well. In November 1977 Sid met his future girlfriend Nancy Spungen. She was an American rock band groupie, and a born herion addict. Although they were clearly in love with each other, their rocky relationship had a deteriorating affect on the Sex Pistols. The Sex Pistols went on to break up in 1978. Sid then embarked on a short solo career with Nancy as his manager. He played with artist inclulding Joe Strummer of the Clash and Jerry Nolan of the New York Dolls. Meanwile, Sid and Nancy became even more drawn into the drug scene. The last night they were together, they checked in to their room (Room 100)at the Chelsea Hotel. Sid awoke to find Nancy crumpled dead in their hotel bathroom. She was stabbed only once in the abdomen. Sid was arrested for her murder, although he had no memory of doing so. There were also many other suspects in Nancy's murder, however, a bail of $50,000 was paid by the Sex Pistol's ex- lable Virgin records, and Sid was temporarily released. In February 1979, Sid was at a party to celebrate his release that was held at his new girlfriend, Michelle Robinson's house. He was supposedly clean from all drugs at this time, due to drug rehab he recieved at prison. However, at the party, he used herion he got from his mother to overdose. He died that same night. Sid and his mother wanted his remains to be burried next to Nancy's, but Nancy's mother would not allow them to be. There are many rumors about the exact location of Sid's remains, but the exact resting place is not known.
Even though Sid Vicious was addicted to drugs, he loved his girlfriend so much that he commited suicide to be with her in the end.

Billie Joe Armstrong was born February 17, 1972 to Ollie and Andy Armstrong plus five older brothers and sisters. He was born in a small Californian town called Rodeo. Ollie, Billie's mom, was a waitress at a resturant called Rod's Hickory Pit, and Andy, Billie's dad, was a truck driver and a part-time jazz drummer. Billie recorded his first song at age five called look for love on Fiat Records, a local lable, (Billie's father played drums on the record.)When Billie Joe was ten years old, his father died of lung cancer, prior to this, Andy had given Billie his first guitar (a Fernandez Stratocaster) that Billie named 'Blue'(Age ten is also the age that he met Micheal Ryan Prichard in a school cafeteria. He is now known as Mike Dirnt.)At fourteen, Billie wrote his first song, and shortly after formed the band Sweet Children with Mike and John Kriffmeyer. Billie Joe attended Pinole Valley High School, where he earned the nickname Two- Dollar Bill because he sold joints for only two dollars there. Billie Joe dropped out of High School the day before his 18th birthday to devote all of his time to his music. Sweet Childern later changed their name to Green Day after gaining local fame and signing a deal with the local label, Lookout Records owned by Larry Livermore. A string of EP's followed. (All of these EP's can be found combined on the album 1039 Smoothed Out/ Slappy Hours.)John then dropped out of the band and another drummer (Tré Cool) joined. Green Day's next record was entitled Kurplunk. Kerplunk was widely noticed and Green Day started to get attention from bigger record labels. In 1993/ 94 Green Day signed to Reprise and made Dookie. On July 2nd 1994, Billie married Adrienne Nesser, a student from Minnesota. Their ceremony lasted a total of five minutes and consisted of vows they wrote from all different religious influences. They spent thier honeymoon at the Clairmont Hotel not far away from their home. The day after their wedding Adrienne discovered she was pregnant, and Jakob Danger Armstrong was born in March 1995. In 1995, Insomniac, Green Day's fourth album was released. Throughout the next two years Green Day took a break to fouus on their families. Nimrod, Green Day's fifth full length album followed in 1997. Billie Joe's second son, Joseph Marciano was born September 12, 1998. In 2000 Green Day released Warning, a mostly acoustic album. In the period of 2000-2004 Green Day almost broke up as a band. Luckily for us, they satyed together. Then in 2001, Green Day released a greatest hits compilation, as it turned out, they had greater hits to come. In 2003, Shenanigans, an album made up of Green Day b-sides was released. Then in 2004, American Idiot was released and Green Day were at the top of the charts again for the second time in yen years. As with Dookie, with American Idiot, Green Day attracted lots of new and diffrernt types of fans. This was considered repulsive to some of the bands old fans, and Green Day was accused of selling out again.
