Zomba Label Group was founded in Britain during 1977 by Clive Calder as a book-publishing venture and moved into the recording business in 1981 as Zomba Recording Corporation.

The Watts Prophets are a group of musicians and poets from Watts, Los Angeles. The group combined elements of jazz and spoken words perfomance, making the trio one that is often seen as a forerunner of contemporary Hip-Hop. Formed in 1967, the group comprises Richard Dedeaux, Father Amde Hamilton (born Anthony Hamilton) and Otis O'Solomon.
