Term used in the North of England to denote a lack of mental capacity. One of a genre of epithets signifying that a person is 'not all there'.

By 'eck, that cousin of yours acts half-struck one o'clock.
It isn't an act. She really is thick.

The disgustingly messy residue of a violent death.

"Each day, the Smithsonian Institution's Feather Identification Laboratory receives about a dozen packages from around the country, each containing tissue swabs from bird/plane collisions. The lab's scientists have dubbed this bloody goo snarge, and it is usually all that is left when bird meets plane."

Used to describe someone who has a pale, gaunt and sickly appearance (but isn't actually terminally ill).
