An alternative celebration of Christmas for science/techno-geeks, based on the fact that December 25 (1642) is Isaac Newton's birthdate.

Trashmas Eve 

The night before the garbage truck comes, so called because Trasha-Claus (the designated garbage person in a household) goes around the house with his/her big black plastic sack collecting all the refuse to take to the curb.

"Don't forget to empty the wastebaskets, it's Trashmas Eve."

Trasha-Claus 

The person in a household who collects the trash in their big plastic sack to put on the curb for the trash truck.

"Make sure you have all your junk in wastebasket, Trasha-Claus is coming around."

cradle 

On the highway, the clear space between clusterfucks (packs of cars traveling close together at the same speed across both lanes).

"I know I'm not at the speed limit, but I'd rather be in the cradle--with no cars around you, you're a lot less likely to get in an accident."

ike 

The Eisenhower Interchange (mixing bowl for Routes 83, 283, and 322) in Harrisburg, PA.

"...traffic's moving smoothly throughout York County, but in Dauphin County, expect backups at the Ike due to ongoing roadwork."

mixing bowl

An interchange involving several different highways, where cars have to cross diagonally across several lanes to get to the route they need. Everyone is trying to merge/cross simultaneously, resulting in a sort of braided motion just short of (and sometimes achieving) complete chaos.

"I wouldn't mind driving to E-town except for that goddamn mixing bowl where 30 crosses 283."

Fuckin' A 

Short for "fucking awesome." Usually a way of strongly saying "you're right!," but can also be used as an expletive if annoyed.

"Hey, think Pittsburgh's gonna beat Dallas next week?"
"You're fuckin' A they will!"

"Dude, you just stepped in gum."
"Aw, man, fuckin' A!!"
