Sportchauvinism

The belief that one’s preferred sport is superior to all other sports, often leading someone to dismiss or belittle athletes from other disciplines.
Sportchauvinist: Football is the only real sport. Everything else is easy.

Person A: Bro, that’s sportchauvinism. 😂

Sports Evangelism

The enthusiastic promotion of sport as the solution to almost every personal or social problem, often without considering whether the person actually wants to participate in sport.
Person A: My friend doesn't enjoy sports.
Sports Evangelist: Everyone needs sport. It builds discipline, confidence, teamwork and mental health.
Person A: But she loves painting.
Sports Evangelist: She should still try running.
Person A: Why?
Sports Evangelist: Because sport changes lives.
Person A: Mate, you're not promoting sport anymore. You're preaching it.
Person B: Classic Sports Evangelism. 😂

Sportnesia

The tendency to forget that not everyone is interested in, passionate about, or wants to participate in sports. A person experiencing Sportnesia may assume that everyone should love sport or that sport is the solution to every problem. Such traits may sometimes be seen in a Sports Andhbhakt.
Person A: I’m not really interested in sports.
Sports Enthusiast: You should try running. Sport builds discipline, improves mental health, teaches teamwork…
Person A: I said I’m not interested.
Sports Enthusiast: But have you tried football?
Person A: Bro has Sportnesia.” 😂

Sports Andhbhakt

A person who blindly supports a sport, team, athlete, or sporting institution to the point where they reject facts, dismiss criticism, and justify harmful behaviour. To them, questioning the sport or its heroes is seen as an attack rather than an opportunity for improvement.
Person A: There have been studies linking football matches to increases in domestic violence, hooliganism, racism, and vandalism. We should be talking about these issues too.

Sports Andhbhakt: Stop spreading negativity. Football only unites people. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Person A: I love football. That's exactly why I think we should acknowledge both its strengths and its flaws.

Sports Andhbhakt: You're just anti-football.

Person A: Right... talking to a wall would be easier.
