family with selective affordability

That one family who can afford eating out, vacations, purchasing a new car, buying LEGO sets, action figures, textbooks, and DVDs, yet somehow still too broke to afford buying any new gaming console beyond PS1.
The Sherbrooke family is such family with selective affordability — they've got all the LEGO sets, action figures, textbooks, and DVDs but still rock a broken PS1 with no replacement like it's the latest console!

inner Shakespeare

Something you unleash as you coin a new slang word to be submitted to UrbanDictionary
After brainstorming with my friends all night, I finally unleashed my inner Shakespeare and created a new term that perfectly captures our inside jokes!

bottom line

The conclusion commonly found at the end of an article or a discourse.

Thursday

Named after the phrase "thirst day," Thursday is the day when a) the climate is as hot as in a barren desert, hence you get thirsty easily, b) you attend the same class as a friend who happens to be thirsty for validation.
Every Thursday feels like a thirst day—I'm parched from the heat, and my buddy won't stop fishing for compliments in class!

Wednesday

Named after the phrase "wetness day", Wednesday is the day when rain happens often especially in the afternoon and the evening, like the one commonly witnessed in Bogor, Indonesia.
I never understood why everyone hates Wednesdays; I love a good wetness day to cozy up with a book!

screen time detox

The phenomenon where it's easier for you to eventually start limiting your own screen time (though it initally requires you to "lose" your "appetite" to binge-watch YouTube like usual). As your parents impose strict behavior requirement to get more screen time to watch YouTube that you're simply unable to fulfill, no matter how "good" your behavior is.
After my parents imposed strict rules on my screen time, I ended up going on a screen time detox and found I actually enjoyed exercising more!
