birthday
In The Sims, "birthday" signifies a Sim's progression to the next life stage, triggering aging up through interactive steps like blowing out candles on a birthday cake or automatically the day after the actual birthday. Players can use the game's calendar to prepare for birthdays or manually age a Sim up by baking a cake and having them blow out the candles.
Last night in The Sims, I totally forgot it was my Sim's birthday! I had to scramble to bake a cake and get everyone to sing before she aged up. Thankfully, she blew out the candles just in time and entered her teen phase with a new hairstyle!

2x1 sized house
Ever since my grandfather passed, I've been visiting his 2x1 sized house every Eid al-Fitr to pay my respects. It’s a quiet place, but it feels good to remember him there.

vinyl
Being the short form of "vinyl record", "vinyl" is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the outside edge and ends near the center of the disc. The stored sound information is made audible by playing the record on a phonograph.
Vinyl was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. It had co-existed with the phonograph cylinder from the late 1880's and had effectively superseded it by around 1912. Records retained the largest market share even when new formats such as the compact cassette were mass-marketed. By the late 1980's, digital media, in the form of the compact disc (CD), had gained a larger market share, and the record left the mainstream in 1991. Since the 1990's, records continue to be manufactured and sold on a smaller scale, and during the 1990's and early 2000s were commonly used by disc jockeys (DJs), especially in dance music genres. They were also listened to by a growing number of audiophiles. The phonograph record has made a niche resurgence in the early 21st century, growing increasingly popular throughout the 2010s and 2020s.

I just scored a limited edition vinyl of my favorite album at the record store—nothing beats the warmth of that analog sound!

Chinese gaming situation
The situation when the release date of the 1992 gaming console Tandy Memorex VIS (Visual Information System) coincided with Mortal Kombat controversy, hence this gaming console had to have its software releases primarily consisting of educational titles. This situation highly resembles the 15-year ban on gaming consoles in mainland China from 2000 through 2015.
The Chinese gaming situation in the early '90s forced companies to rethink their strategies, similar to how the Tandy Memorex VIS focused on educational titles amid the Mortal Kombat controversy.

dystopian future
An "era" where YouTube has replaced outdoor play in children / during childhood. This "era" started in the latter half of 2010's but intensified during and after COVID-19 pandemic. This "era" is akin to what sci-fi movies from 1990's ~ early 2000's has warned us.
The rise of a dystopian future where children prefer YouTube over outdoor play reflects the concerns raised by earlier generations in sci-fi films.

saint
"Saint" is the slang term for someone with certain religious affiliation who dies young whilst still being adhere to the same religious affiliation as when he / she was born. Please note that this slang term is named after Carlo Acutis, who has recently been canonized as the first Millennial-born saint.
Everyone loved Jamie; he was such a good kid. It’s a tragedy he passed away so young—definitely a saint in my book.
