A situation where a new controversy creates a temporary void of reliable information; allowing grifters to use this as an opportunity to grift or exploit outrage.

The Critical Drinker took advantage of the grifting vacuum made from the controversy of the Peacemaker episode 'Full Nelson' by making a video on how the DCU is falling apart.
